Suction Line / Pump / By-Pass Line / Bubble Chamber Configuration
23.1
Installation of the By-Pass Ports and Line
Cut the by-pass line to length so that
there are no loops in the by-pass line (sagging is okay)
and connect to the
6mm barbs on the strainer and bubble chamber as shown. Silicon lubricant can be used on the by-pass tube and
The below suction/pump/by-pass line/bubble chamber mounting configuration
MUST be
followed exactly
. Take particular note of the
pump and strainer water level and orientation
,
the slope in the suction line and the position of by-pass line under the 25mm PVC pipe.
Why?
If air traps are present, air bubbles will accumulate in the system when the system
drains down through the suction line. Air in the suction line can lock the pump. The below
configuration is nearly impervious to air-locks and will prevent the pump from overheating by
allowing cooling water flow via the by-pass in the event of a major air lock.
