ESSID
(Extended Service Set Identifier) – The ESSID is a name that uniquely
identifies the wireless network provided by the Pocket VoIP Gateway. Clients
that want to connect to the wireless network must set their SSID to the same as
that of the Pocket VoIP Gateway.
SSID Broadcast
– Check this box to disable broadcasting the configured
ESSID. The Pocket VoIP Gateway is configured by default as an “open
system,” which broadcasts a beacon signal including the configured ESSID.
Wireless clients with a configured SSID of “ANY” can read the SSID from the
beacon, and automatically set their SSID to allow immediate connection to the
Pocket VoIP Gateway. When disabled, the Pocket VoIP Gateway does not
include its ESSID in beacon messages. This provides a basic level of security,
since wireless clients must be pre-configured with the ESSID to connect to the
Pocket VoIP Gateway.

WAN Type
– The WAN Type page is for specifying the WAN port connection to
your Internet service provider (ISP). When one of the four options is specified,
the Wizard displays the appropriate configuration parameters.
