Tx Rate
There are severa l optio ns including
Auto/1/2/5.5/11/6/9/12/18/24/36/48/54Mbps for you to select.
Whe n the “Auto” is selected, the device will c hoose t he most
suitable trans missio n rate automatica lly. The hig her data rate you
desig nated in the network, the shorter distance is allowed
between the adapter and the wireless stations.
Whe n the adapter works in 11b mode, the ma ximum data rate is
11Mbps so that there are only “Auto/1/2/5.5/11Mbps” options yo u
can select.
SSID
The SSID (up to 32 printable ASCII characters) is the uniq ue
na me ide ntifie d in a WLAN. The ID preve nts the uninte ntio nal
merging of two co-located WLANs.
You may specify a SSID for the adapter and the n only the de vice
with the same SSID can interco nnect to the adapter.
Any
If “Any“ check bo x is e nab led, the adapter will sur vey a nd co nnect
to one of the availab le wireless stations witho ut c hecking t he
cons istency of cha nnel a nd SSID wit h the wireless station.
Network Type
Ad-Hoc
– This mo de enables wireless network adapters
interconnecting witho ut thro ug h AP or Ro uter. Select this mode if
there is no AP or Router in the network.
Infrastructure
– This operatio n mod e requires the presenc e of an
802.11 Access Point. All communicatio n is do ne via the Access
Point or Router.
Change/Apply
Click “Cha ng e“ will ena ble yo u to setup the parameters of
“General Co nnectio n Setting“. In the me a ntime, the butto n will
cha ng e to “Apply“ for you to confirm yo ur settings.
Encryptio n Setting
In the block, users may enable/disa ble WEP a nd WPA e ncryptio n
within the network. Please refer to Section 6.3 for more
descriptio n.
