Tx Rate
There are severa l optio ns including
Auto/1/2/5.5/11/6/9/12/18/24/36/48/54Mbps for you to select.
Whe n the “Auto” is selected, the device will c hoose t he most
suitable trans missio n rate automatica lly. The hig her data rate you
desig nated in the network, the shorter distance is allowed
between the adapter and the wireless stations.
Whe n the adapter works in 11b mode, the ma ximum data rate is
11Mbps so that there are only “Auto/1/2/5.5/11Mbps” options yo u
can select.
SSID
The SSID (up to 32 printable ASCII characters) is the uniq ue
na me ide ntifie d in a WLAN. The ID preve nts the uninte ntio nal
merging of two co-located WLANs.
The defa ult SSID of the AP is WLAN_AP. Wireless adapters
connect to the AP s ho uld set up t he same SSID as the AP.
Hide SSID
If “Hide SSID“ check bo x is e nabled, the AP will not appear in t he
site survey list of any wireless adapters. It means Only t he
wireless adapters set the same SSID ca n connect to the AP. It
aviods the AP be ing co nnected by una ut horize d users.
Tx Power
There are four le vels for you to setup the trans miss io n power of
the AP. The hig her transmissio n power, the larger transmiss io n
distance a nd wireless co verage.
Change/Apply
Clcik “Cha ng e“ will ena ble yo u to setup the parameters of
“General Co nnectio n Setting“. In the me a ntime, the butto n will
cha ng e to “Apply“ for you to confirm yo ur settings.
WEP
Enable or disable WEP encryptio n f unctio n. If the WEP functio n is
enab led, o nly wireless adapters with the same defa ult key and
WEP key setting ca n connect to the AP.
Setting
Click “Setting“ to setup the WEP key. Please refer to Section 6.3
for more description.
Aut he nticatio n Mode
Open System
– No aut he nticatio n is ne eded for connecting to the
AP.
Shared Key
– Only wireless adapters using a shared key (WEP Key
identified) are allowed to connecting to the AP.
