Operating instructions
1. The unit can be placed flat or in an
upright position with the supplied stand
mounted. For optimal performance place
the unit within 1 m range between the
hearing aid user and person speaking.
2. Set the Power switch

to “ON” to turn
the device power on. Power LED

indicates blue. The unit can be powered
by a built-in battery or an external DC
power supply unit connected to the
power supply jack

3. SmartLoop has a built-in electret
microphone but can also be used with
an external headset or a conference
microphone connected to the 3.5mm
Mic Input

. Adjust the sound level with
the Level control switch

. Four level
settings are available within Min to Max
range. Set the switch to “Min” and speak
normally to check the sound level. The
Headphone output socket

is a direct
reflection of the loop signal current and
the sound quality can be easily assessed
at this point. Adjust the level if necessary.
Battery Charging
The unit has a built-in rechargeable Li-polymer battery. Please charge the battery for
minimum 3 hours before using the unit for the first time. To charge, connect the supplied
power adapter to the DC supply input (8). Fully charged battery provides approx. 14 hours
usage.
Battery status LED (7) indicates red when recharging is required. Charge for minimum 3
hours to reach the full charge.
The power supply unit should be connected whenever possible to ensure full battery
capacity and optimal performance.
