9.4 Setup the digital perimeter
Your worker robot uses a digital perimeter to define her working area.
Your worker robot uses a map to navigate in your yard. On that map your worker robot
uses a digital perimeter to understand where her borders are located.
When she arrives at your home your worker robot doesn’t has a map.
To create a map you need to show your worker robot her working area.
After installing the docking station you will be able to show your worker robot the way
around your yard.
Place your worker robot on the docking station and go stand 3 meter in front of her.
You will see her eyes scanning for a person.
Once she sees you during 2 seconds she will drive towards you.
You can now start to walk around your yard while your worker robot follows you.
Stay at a distance of 4 to 6 meter in front of your worker robot.
Walk round your yard and stay about 2 meter away from your borders. Your worker robot
will automatically detects the borders afterwards.
Since you control your worker robot (she follows you), make sure there are never
obstacles or steps higher than 2 cm between you and your worker robot.
WARNING
Your worker robot will always drive in a straight line towards you. Be sure there are no
obstacles, water, pits or steps higher than 2 cm between you and Toadi.
