3.8 Filters - continued
Water in fuel check
Check the fuel filter to see if there is water in the
fuel circuit. (Picture 1)
If there is water in the fuel, proceed as follows:
1. Turn off the engine and remove the ignition key.
2. Let the engine cool down adequately to avoid
being burnt.
3. Prepare a container of appropriate capacity.
4. Unscrew the drain plug located at the base of
the fuel filter and leave the fuel to drain out until
there is no more water in it. (Picture 2)
Attention
Be careful to ensure that the fuel in the
filter does not drain completely out. If
it does, remove it, fill it manually and
then repeat the bleeding operation.
Fuel decanter filter replacement
Check the status of the fuel decanter filter.
(Picture 1)
If the element is clogged, proceed as follows.
1. Turn off the engine and remove the ignition key.
2. Let the engine cool down adequately to avoid
being burnt.
3. Prepare a container of appropriate capacity.
4. Unscrew the drain plug located at the base of
the fuel filter, and empty the filter. (Picture 1)
5. Remove the container. Remove the fuel
decanter filter element. Replace it. (Picture 2)
6. Fill the container and put it back. (Picture 1)
