Assembly / adjustments of the hedge trimmer
5.19 Assembly
The hedge trimmer is ready for use once the
connecting tube has been converted (see section
5.15) and it has been screwed to the motor unit
(see section 5.13).
5.20 Adjusting the housing tilt (Fig. 29)
Press the lock-o
ff
button (Item 51) and adjust the
tilt of the housing to any of 7 latching positions.
5.21 Fitting the battery (Fig. 30-31)
Push the battery into the battery mount provided
(Item 1). The battery will be heard to click into
place when it is pushed fully in. To take out the
battery, press the pushlock button (Item 52) and
remove the battery.
5.22 Charging the Li battery pack
The corresponding instructions can be found
in the original operating instructions for your
charger.
5.23 Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 54 / item
56)
Press the battery capacity indicator switch (57).
The battery capacity indicator (56) shows the
charge status of the battery using 3 LEDs.
All 3 LEDs lit:
The battery is fully charged.
2 or 1 LED(s) lit:
The battery has an adequate remaining charge.
1 LED

ashing:
The battery is empty, recharge the battery.
All LEDs
fl
ashing:
The battery pack has been deep-discharged and
is defective. Do not re-use or charge a defective
battery pack.

General information
6.1 Putting on the harness (Fig. 32-33)
Important!
Always use the harness when
working with the equipment. Always switch o
ff
the equipment before you release the harness.
Otherwise there is a risk of injury.
1. Slip the harness (Item 20) over your shoulder.
2. Adjust the length of the harness so that the
harness holder is at waist level.
3. The harness is equipped with a buckle. Press
the hooks together if you need to put down
the tool quickly.
6.2 Switching On/O

Hold the tool firmly with one hand on the
handle (Item 4) and the other hand on the
steady grip (Item 17).
•
Press the switch lock (Item 3) and then press
the On/ Off switch (Item 2).

7. Using for work
Danger!
Work only with a fully assembled tool.
When you want to carry out work on the tool
itself, always wear protective gloves and use the
supplied blade covers to protect yourself against
injury.
Each time before use you must check that:
•
the safety devices and the cutting device are
in perfect condition and complete;
•
all screws are securely fastened;
•
all moving parts move smoothly.
•
Never use equipment which is obviously
damaged.
