Chapter 7 Troubleshooting

Problem
Possible cause and remedy
1. No picture
• Powerindicatordoesnotlight.
• Checkwhetherthepowercordisconnectedproperly.
• Turnthemainpowerswitchon.
• Turnoffthemainpower,andthenturnitonagainafew
minuteslater.
• Powerindicatorislightingred.
• Press
ontheremotecontrol(or onthe
monitor).
• Powerindicatorislightingblue.
• Increase“Brightness”,“Contrast”,or“Gain”intheSetting
menu(see
“Toperformadvancedadjustments”(page16)
).
• Powerindicatorislightingorange.
• Checkwhetherthesignalcableisconnectedproperly.
• Checkwhethertheexternaldeviceisturnedon.
• Operatethemouseorkeyboard.
• Switchtheinputsignal.
• Ifanexternaldeviceisconnected,changethemethod
ofexitingfromthepowersavingmode.Turnoffthe
poweronceandthenpress
onthemonitorfor
fivesecondsormoretochangetheexitingmethodand
thenturnonthepoweragain(see
methodfromthepowersavingmode”(page37)
).
• IfanexternaldeviceispluggedintotheHDMIport,
changetheauthenticationmethod.Poweroffonceand
thenpress
onthemonitorforfivesecondsor
moretochangetheauthenticationmethodandthenturn
onthepoweragain(see
“3-8.Changingtheauthentication
methodforHDMIsignalinput”(page31)
).

Thismessageappearswhenthesignalisnotinputcorrectly
evenwhenthemonitorfunctionsproperly.
Example:
• Themessageshowsthattheinputsignalisoutofthe
specifiedrange.
• Whentheanalogsignal(D-Sub)/digitalsignal(DVI-D,
HDMI:PCsignal)isinput,takethemeasuresbelow:
-CheckwhetherthePCisconfiguredtomeetthe
resolutionandverticalscanfrequencyrequirementsof
themonitor(see
“2-1.CompatibleResolutions/Formats”
).
-RebootthePC.
-Selectanappropriatesettingusingthegraphicsboard’s
utility.Refertothemanualofthegraphicsboardfor
details.
