Using the thermometer
1. Gently squeeze the sides of the probe cap and twist to
remove. Do not use force in removing the cap.
2. Always use a new and undamaged probe cover.
Attach the probe cover to the connection ring. Fig.1

Place the smooth side (not the adhesive
Caution! Read the instructions before use!
Warning:
Proper installation of the probe cover ensures accurate
measurements. If the probe cover has not been connected firmly,
the probe cover icon
will flash on the display. In this case
please check the setting of the probe cover again.
Warning:
Keep the probe covers and connection ring away from
children.
3. Make sure the ear passage is clean.
4. Press the
ON/MEM
button. The thermometer is ready
for use after the ear icon stops flashing and two beeps sound.
5. Gently pull the ear back and up to straighten the ear passage. Fig. 3
To obtain the most accurate reading snugly position the
probe in the ear so that the probe point is in line with the
membrane of the eardrum. Fig. 4
6. With the index finger press the
SCAN
button until you hear a
beep. Fig. 5
7. The device will shut off automatically if not used for more than 1
minute. This saves battery life.
• Place the center of the probe cover over the end of the probe.
• Insert and push the connection ring until the probe cover
clicks into place. The “click” means that the probe cover has
been connected firmly. Fig. 2

Fever alarm:
If the thermometer detects a body temperature of more than
37.5°C when measuring by the ear or forehead, there will be a
long beep sound followed by three short beep sounds which
warn of potential fever.
Memory - MEM
If the temperature reading is within the normal range of 34 °C to
42.2 °C (93.2 °F to 108.0 °F) when the thermometer is turned off,
the last measurement is saved in the memory.
To recall the previous temperature press the
ON/MEN
button
once again.
