After the settings and the configurations are completed, no further modification or resetting will be necessary. A per-
fect set-up will ensure both stereo and surround sound.
Movie-background-music often creates a very dynamic sound reproduction, sometimes a heavy impact on amplifi-
ers´ and speakers´ capacity, so please note the following remarks on respective limits of your speaker-amplifier-
combination.
Active Subwoofers
All current ELAC subwoofers provide ESP.
ESP
®
is a frequency and power dependent electronic stabilization programme for controlled bass performance even in
extreme situations. In comparison to conventional active subwoofers, it is now practically impossible to overdrive
ELAC ESP
®
subwoofers.
Passive loudspeakers
ELAC’s home cinema loudspeakers are provided with a reversible fuse to ensure overload protection.
Amplifier
A lot of amplifiers designed for surround systems do not give information on the output power and input power of
loudspeakers. The setting of the volume control does not give information on the loading capacity of an amplifier
because the amplifier increases the input signals (e. g. CD/DVD player). The state of the full-load output depends on
a number of different factors. E. g. a CD, that has been recorded at a very high volume may interfere with the power
limit of an amplifier.
The following rule applies to all home cinema systems:
In the case of audible distortions, please pay attention to your home cinema system and turn down the vol-
ume immediately.
