8.4 Self tests
Self tests of the Euro-2000TE ALPHA register permit checking of its functionality simply and quickly. Self
testing permits automatic checking of the functionality of electronic circuits, display segments, keyboard
buttons, communication ports and printer.
Procedure:
8.4.1 Self-test of the electronics and display
By executing this test, all displayable characters are gradually switched on and off in the both displays.
Each display segment will be lit.
Procedure for running self-test of electronics and display :
1. Turn the mode key to the Pposition.
2. Press numbers

on the numeric keyboard.
3. Press the button

The display test finishing is announced by a beep. You can continue in testing of other parts of the register.
8.4.2 Self-test of the printer
Self-test of the printer prints identification data of the Euro-2000 on the receipt and journal. It prints the
program version number, cash register configuration (number of departments and PLU) and the complete
character set both in standard and double size.
Procedure of running the self-test of the printer:
1. Turn the mode key to the Pposition.
2. Press numbers
200
on the numeric keyboard.
3. Press the button
K
.
The printer test finishing is announced by a beep. You can continue in testing of other parts of the register.

8.4.3 Self-test of keyboard
Self-test of the keyboard displays the internal button code after pressing the button. The test checks function-
ality of the register buttons.
Procedure for running self-test of keyboard :
1. Turn the mode key to the Pposition.
2. Press number

button on the numeric keyboard.
3. Press the button

4. Press individual buttons one after another and check the values on display.
5. The test will be finished by pressing the key

If the button is functional, its internal hexadecimal code will appear on the display. If the key is pressed last

complete.
