7.0 - GENERATOR USE
The generator built according to the regulations in force at the time of production, was designed to meet a wide range of appli-
cations. It should however be noted that each application must be subject to precise standards of an electrical nature, accident
prevention and health care, which is why the G.S. should be considered as part of an overall system to be designed, tested and
approved by qualified personnel or agencies.
To prevent accidents due to electrical, make the connections, to switchboards, only for qualified personnel.
Improper wiring can cause damage to people and the G.S. itself.
7.1 - Electrical separation
All standard generators adopt the principle of electrical separation, however, they can be supplied with different protections
(differential , Isometer ) directly from the manufacturer upon request, or they can be protected in the same way directly by the
user during installation. It is important to follow the instructions:
•
The standard generator protected by electrical separation, has devices with thermal and magneto-thermal protection
from overload, overcurrent and short-circuit. In this case, the G.S. must never be connected to the ground at terminal
“PE” and with other parts of the generator
•
The generator with the control panel or with devices installed by the user is protected by automatic disconnection of sup-
ply . It has devices with thermal and magneto-thermal protection combined with differential circuit breaker or isolation
controllers (Isometer). In this case the G.S. must be connected to the ground at terminal “PE” using an appropriate
section of the insulated conductor green-yellow
7.2 -Differential circuit breaker
If the user installs the differential circuit breaker, it is important that:
•
For single phase generators the neutral should also be connected to the ground. It corresponds to the junction of the
two main windings. Contact our technical departement for further information.
•
For three phase generators the neutral should also be connected to the ground. It corresponds to the central star, in the
case of a star connection, in the case of a delta connection is not possible to install a differential circuit breaker.
WARNING !!
DO NOT connect to the generator, loads of them do not know the electrical characteristics.
7.3 - Restoring the G.S. in case of overload and short-circuit
The electrical circuit of the generator is protected by a magnetothermal switch, magnetothermal differential switch or thermal
switch. Overloads and short circuits shutdown the generator. To reset the circuit:
•
Disconnect the excess loads
•
Check the cause of the short circuit and reset the switch.
