CARE OF YOUR CARAVAN
WATER SYSTEMS - STERILIZATION
Clean the water system at the start and end of
the season with sterilizing fluid. When cleaning it
is advisable to use a sterilizing fluid e.g. Chempro
SDP or similar.
Please Note:
It is recommended that for this
operation the filter is removed as the fluid
reduces the effectiveness of a new filter.
(i)
Drain down the system. (Open all taps to
allow air in, enabling the system to drain
quickly.) See Index - Water System, Draining.
(ii)
Remove any water filters fitted, and replace
with a short length of hose or empty filter
cartridge (this will ensure the filter is not
affected by the disinfectant / sterilizing
solution).
(iii) Fill the system by using the pump with a
disinfectant / sterilizing solution. (Check that
the solution at full strength appears at all
taps/showers). Allow to stand for the
recommended period of time.
(iv) Drain the system down completely.
(v)
Thoroughly clean the outside of all taps/
connectors with a cloth soaked in the
disinfectant / sterilizing solution.
(vi) Flush the system through with clean
drinking water until no traces of disinfectant
/ sterilizing solution can be detected at any
tap.
(vii) After sterilizing the system at the start of
the season it is recommended that a new
Ultraflow filter cartridge should be fitted.
Please Note:
Suitable sterilizing chemicals are
available from your Elddis Retailer, accessory
shop, chemists, or home-brew shops. It is not,
however, recommended to use bleach or sodium
met bisulphide.
TRUMA SPACE HEATER
Please note:
Your Truma Space Heater front is
now attached using 2 screws. These screws must
be removed prior to removal of the Space
Heater front. These screws can be seen when
looking into the fire through the air vents.
THETFORD TOILET
WARNINGS
•
Cold Weather Use - to prevent freezing
during cold weather use, add antifreeze
to the toilet system fresh water tank.
Use a non-toxic (propylene glycol) type
of antifreeze. Refer to chart on
container to obtain level of protection.
•
Warmer weather or longer intervals
between emptying the waste tank may
require additional toilet fluid. Use only
Thetford toilet fluid to achieve the best
results.
CAUTIONS
•
Never add toilet fluid directly into
toilet bowl.
•
Do not use strong household
detergents or cleaners that contain
chlorine, solvents or acid contents.
•
High Altitude and Hot Weather Use -
with large temperature differences and
changing heights during towing, over
pressure can start to build up in the
waste holding tank, causing contents to
splash upward upon opening the valve
blade if opened too fast.
