Temperature classes:
Units according to Directive 2014/34/EC are classi
fi
ed into
classes of max. permissible surface temperatures (tempera-
ture classes). Information regarding the temperature class
is on the nameplates of the units. The highest permissible
surface temperature class indicated is applicable only if the
product is used for its designated purpose.
Labelling examples:
II 2G Ex h IIB T4 Gb
II 3D Ex h IIIC T135°C Dc
II 3G Ex h IIB T4 Gc
II 3D Ex h IIIC T135°C Dc
The complete fan has a motor and fan rating plate.
The ATEX marking on the fan rating plate applies to the
complete fan.

Special applications and application conditions can increase
the hazard potential and must therefore be communicated to
and co-ordinated in advance with Elektror.
1.2 Normal installation positions
• The fans are only approved for installation indoors.
Outdoor installation is only permitted with suitable
weather protection for the complete fan.
• Ensure that the installation situation does not a

• Avoid aggressive ambient conditions, high air humidity or
strong temperature
fl

condensation forming on the motor/blower.
Intended use includes the following:
• Equipment categories 2G and 3G:
The
fl
ow medium and the area surrounding the blower
do not contain substances that may corrode the materials,
such as acids, alkaline or caustic solutions, solvents,
airborne rust, iron oxides, aggressive or abrasive gases,
liquids or solid substances. The
fl
ow medium is free from
substances which may settle, are adhesive or may form
condensates, and is free from foreign particles.
• Equipment categories 3D:
The
fl
ow medium and area surrounding the blower do not
contain a substances that may corrode the materials, such
as acids, alkaline or caustic solutions, solvents, airborne
rust, iron oxides, aggressive or abrasive gases of liquids.
The
fl
ow medium is free from substances that are
adhesive or may form condensates.
• Fans with motors in accordance with ignition protection
type Ex db eb are only suitable for frequency converter
operation with a rated voltage of ± 5%.
• The values for the maximum/minimum frequency can be
found at 3.3.1.
Operation in a prohibited area
Danger!
Risk of destroying the fan!
Operation of the fan in the hatched area (1) trig-
gers pumping e
ff
ects and results in strong vibra-
tions.
This results in the fan being destroyed. Operation
of the fan is only permitted from the minimum
volumetric
fl
ow rate.
