Maintenance 

 Always wear gardening gloves, if you handle the 

tool or work in proximity to the sharp blades. 

 Check that all the nuts, bolts and screws are well 

tightened in order to ensure that the garden tool is 
safe to operate. 

 Regularly inspect the grass collection box to 

assess its state of wear. 

 Inspect the garden tool and, for safety reasons, 

replace worn or damaged parts. 

 Only use blades intended for the garden tool. 

 Ensure that the replacement parts are parts 

manufactured by ELEM GARDEN TECHNIC.  
 

Personal safety  

▪

 Remain attentive and vigilant. Pay attention to 

what you are doing and always use a power tool 

with caution. Do not operate a power tool when you 

are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or 

medication. A moment of inattention when using 
power tools may result in serious personal injury.

 Wear personal safety equipment as well as safety 

glasses under all circumstances. Wearing personal 

safety equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid 
safety shoes, protection helmet or ear protection, 

depending on the power tool being used, reduces 

the risk of injury.

 Avoid any inadvertent switching on of the power 

tool. Ensure that the power switch is in the OFF 

position before connecting the power cord to the 

power outlet. A risk of accident exists if your finger is 
placed on the power tool’s power switch when you 

are carrying the power tool or when you connect it 

to the power outlet while the switch is in the ON 

position.

 Remove all maintenance tools or spanners before 

connecting the power tool to the power outlet. A tool 

or a spanner left in the rotating assembly of the 
power tool is likely to cause personal injury.

 Do not overestimate your abilities. Ensure that you 

maintain a safe and stable position and keep your 
balance at all times. This will allow you to better 

control the power tool in unexpected situations.

 Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose-

fitting clothing, do not wear jewellery. Keep hair, 
clothes and gloves away from moving parts. Loose-

fitting clothing, jewellery and long hair can be caught 

by the moving parts.

 If dust extraction and collection devices are 

mounted, ensure that these are correctly connected 

and employed. The use of these devices reduces 

the inherent risks of exposure to dust. 

Indications for the optimal handling of the 
battery pack 

 Check that the garden tool’s power switch is in 

the OFF position before mounting the battery pack. 

Mounting a battery pack onto a garden tool with its 
power switch in the ON position can cause 

accidents. 

 Do not expose the charger to rain or humidity. 

The penetration of water into the charger increases 

the risk of electric shock. 

 Only charge the battery packs in chargers 

recommended by the manufacturer. A charger 
intended for a specific type of battery pack can 

present a risk of fire when it is used with other 

battery packs. 

 Do not charge any battery packs other than those 

indicated below. The charger is only appropriate for 

charging ELEM GARDEN TECHNIC lithium-ion 

battery packs of voltages indicated in the technical 

specifications. Otherwise, there is a risk of fire and 
explosion. 

 Keep the charger clean. Clogging with dirt and 

dust increases the risk of electric shock. 

 Before each use, inspect the charger, the plug 

and the cable. Do not use the charger if defects are 

observed. Do not dismantle the charger by yourself 

and only have it repaired by a qualified person, and 

only with replacement parts from the original 
manufacturer. Damaged chargers, cables and plugs 

increase the risk of electric shock. 

 Do not use the charger on an easily inflammable 

surface (such as paper, textiles etc.) or in an 

inflammable environment. Heat produced during the 
charging process increases the risk of fire. 

 Only use the garden tool with specifically 

designated ELEM GARDEN TECHNIC battery 

packs. The use of any other battery pack may lead 
to personal injury and fire risks. 

 When not in use, keep the battery pack away 

from all metallic objects such as staples, coins, 

keys, nails, screws and similar items, given that 
contact with such items may cause a short circuit. A 

short circuit between the battery pack contacts may 

cause burns or fire. 

 In poor conditions, liquid can leak from the battery 

pack; avoid all contact. In case of accidental 

contact, clean with water. If the liquid enters into 

contact with the eyes, also seek medical assistance. 

The liquid that leaks from the battery pack can 
cause irritation and burns. 

 Do not open the battery pack. Risk of short circuit. 

 Protect the battery pack from all heat sources, 

such as for example exposure to direct sunlight, to 
fire, to water and to humidity. There is a risk of 

explosion. 

 Do not short circuit the battery pack. There is a 

risk of explosion. 

 In the case of damage or inappropriate use of the 

battery pack, vapours can be released.  

Ventilate the working area, and if feeling unwell, 

consult a doctor.  The vapours can cause irritation 
of the respiratory tract. 

 Protect the battery pack from humidity and water. 

 Store the battery pack within the temperature 

range of 0 °C to 50 °C. Do not store the battery pack 

for an extended period in a car, for example in the 
summer. 

 Periodically clean the ventilation holes of the 

battery pack with the aid of a soft, clean and dry 

brush.
