which will lock the flywheel in a few seconds - meanwhile
the "Emergency Stop" (Pic. 26) message will appear on
the display.
The brake is automatically released after 10 seconds.
PLEASE NOTE: the brake is disabled in the first 10 seconds
since bootup.
In case of emergency stop, you may hear a noise coming
from the braking device which is due to the exceptional
braking action requested with the button.
11_VIRTUAL GEAR SHIFTER
FUORIPISTA features two levers on its front, which have
different functions based on the selected workout mode.
In the Stand-Alone mode you can manually adjust the
brake (check out chapter 13_STAND ALONE MODE),
while in simulation mode you can adjust the gear shifter
as you do in regular bicycles. This is the best way to select
the appropriate gear to face the courses on simulations.
Gear shifter is virtual but, just like a real gear shifter, it
affects the metric development of your pedalling, that is
each stroke increases or decreases the distance covered.
Therefore, with the same pedalling cadence, by changing
the gear, the speed changes and resistance follows suit,
just like on the road.
The left lever (Ref. L) (Pic. 20) virtually manages the front
chainring derailleur while the right lever (Ref. R) (Pic. 20)
manages the rear derailleur of the sprocket set. The default
configuration sets an 11-speed gear shifter.
These are impulsive-type levers so by moving them one
way or the other they will virtually increase or decrease the
derailleur gear, the pre-set gear is displayed along with the
number of teeth of the front and rear chainring.
PLEASE NOTE: the virtual gear shifter only works with
FUORIPISTA connected to a software or app while working
out in simulation mode (RealVideo, maps, gradient
workout).
12_DISPLAY
The front of the product features an OLED display (Ref. M)

When one of the two protocols (ANT+ or Bluetooth) is not
in use or there's a disconnection the related symbol blinks.
After 10 seconds of no connected software or apps
FUORIPISTA enters the STAND ALONE mode. Now the
ANT+ and Bluetooth logos are turned off and you can
workout without connecting to other devices. Please check
paragraph 13_STAND ALONE for further info.
After 3 minutes of inactivity in stand-alone mode
FUORIPISTA enters the energy saving mode.
13_STAND ALONE MODE
When FUORIPISTA is in stand-alone mode (that is, not
connected to apps or software) the functionality of the two
levers changes.
The left lever (Ref. L) adjusts 17 different braking levels
(0 to 16). Resistance is dependent on pedalling speed
and changes along with speed changes. The LEV text is
displayed above with the set level and instant power output
displayed below (Pic. 21).
The right lever (Ref. R) (Pic. 20) allows power workouts with
a pre-set goal. The brake assembly adapts so the cyclist
can face the preset resistance, regardless of pedalling
speed.
On the display (Ref. M) (Pic. 20) the ERG text appears, the
preset power and instant power output (Pic. 22).
14_ USING FUORIPISTA WITH SOFTWARE /
APPS / DEVICES
When working out we suggest using the My E-Training
software / app, available for iOS, Android, Windows and
Mac OS. My E-Training is a complete system with several
different workout modes, such as video, configurable
programs, Google Maps courses, online competitions and
many more.
It is possible to use a third party software, provided that
it's compatible with the home trainer communication
standards. There are many apps / software / devices on
the market that connect to FUORIPISTA.
Please follow the related instructions to connect said
software / app / device to FUORIPISTA.
Before using any app and beginning the connection
procedure make sure that FUORIPISTA is on (by pressing
the emergency button on the Display area) and hasn't
