Closing the case
•
Space permitting, you may place other acces-
sories in the case between the two foam layers
(shoes, pump, etc.). Larger items will be held in
position by the foam. Smaller items should be pla-
ced in a protective bag and secured as necessary
to protect the frame.
•
Close the top shell. It is preferrable to have
some resistance to fully closing, from the com-
pression of the foam pieces. This ensures that
the frame and extra parts are securely held
between the foam layers. If there is a gap of
15 mm (0.6”) to 40 mm (1.6”) between the 2
case halves before they are pushed together, go
ahead and close the case. If the gap is smaller
than 15 mm (0.6”), add the 3rd smaller foam
piece on top of the wheels, and them close the
case.
If the gap is larger than 45 mm (1.75”),
revise the packing as necessary to eliminate the
problem. DO NOT FORCE THE CASE SHUT, AS YOU
MAY DAMAGE THE CONTENTS OF THE CASE IN
SOME WAY.
• Clamp the top and bottom halves together by
the lockable catches (two on the long side, one on
each short side) and the sliding fastener
(Fig. 8)
.
•
Make a final check by lightly pushing on different
areas of case top. If you find an area that does
not seem to be stable, then some repositioning
of the contents may be required.
•
Cover the rigid side handle (Fig. 9) with the
padding provided.
•
Take the key out from the lock keyhole (fig. 10)
before opening the catches (fig. 11).
•
The maximum limit load is 30 kg.
Do not overload
to avoid possible damage of the case during use.
Note: The shapes, sizes and designs of bikes and
accessories vary greatly. Take extra precautions
to insure that your bike is safely packed and pro-
tected from the other items in the case that could
scratch and dent it.
