Getting to know the product
The SmartPlug 16A (hereinafter referred to as
plug) is used as plug adapter to control various
electrical devices, for example floor lamps, radios,
ventilators or coffee machines.
The plug can also monitor energy consumption
of plugged-in devices.
The plug must not be used to control
safety relevant applications.
Control options
Home control:
To control the plug in your home
through the
ELKO Smart app
, you will need the
ELKO SmartHUB
.
Direct operation:
The plug can always be
controlled directly on-site. To do this, you can
switch the plug on and off with the operation
button.
Functions:
•
Switching on and off plugged-in devices
manually and remotely via app
•
Setting a timer or a time schedule (via app)
•
Visibility of load status (via app)
•
Monitoring and visualisation of energy
consumption (via app)
Choosing the installation
location
Place the plug in socket outlets that are not
hidden behind large objects or furniture that
reduce the radio reception, like refrigerators or
cabinets.
Connecting the plug

Insert the plug into a suitable socket outlet.

Connect the plug with the SmartHUB.

Stick in suitable devices.
CAUTION
•
The plug must be used indoor only.
•
To disconnect the plug from the power
supply pull it out of the socket outlet or turn
off the fuse in the incoming circuit.
•
Do not connect plugs one after another.
•
Only connect the plug to a mains socket
outlet with a protective earthing connection.
Failure to observe these instructions will
result in device damage.

Setting the plug
Connecting to the ELKO
SmartHUB
Short press (< 0,5 s) the operation button 3 times
to connect to the available Zigbee network.
Upon successful connection to the ELKO
SmartHUB the status LED turns green for 10 s,
then turns off.

Resetting the plug
Short press (< 0,5 s) the operation button 3 times
and then long press the operation button once
for >10 s and <15 s to reset the plug to factory
default mode.
After releasing the button, the status LED blinks
green for some second, then turns off, indicating
that the plug can be connected to the SmartHUB
again.
All configuration data, user data, and network
data is deleted. After which:

No connectivity to other devices or rooms
•
No timer settings
