21. Exerciser Operation
The Exerciser is operated by setting up for the desired topology (see Section 20, Exerciser or Examiner – Setting Up),
selecting the desired functionality on the Exerciser GUI, then depressing the Run button, which initiate the
operational stack.
Once the Exerciser’s stack is initiated, the various controls may be managed by the user to create the desired
scenarios, such as sending packets, resets, and commands.
To operate the Exerciser for Power Delivery Mode:
1. Select the Start As (
Role
) of the Exerciser in the
General
tab and select the Phy type.
2. In the
Power Capabilities
section of the
General
tab, select the Edit button for the Source Cap and/or Sink
Cap and define as desired.
3. As required, use the Edit buttons in the
VDM Configuration
section of the
General
tab to define the Exerciser’s
responses to VDM requests, including Discover SVIDs, Discover Identity, and Discover Modes.
4. As required, select the
Advanced
tab to set non-default
