Exerciser User Interface
User Guide
BIST Tester
Mode
Receiver
The Exerciser sends BIST Receiver Test Frames with 1024 bits of
PRBS payload.
Transmitter
The Exerciser sends a BIST Transmitter Test Frame to initiate BIST
Transmitter mode in the far-end transmitter.
Test Data
The Exerciser sends the Test Data frame with BIST Test Data BDO,
Data Objects = 7, and 192 bits (28 bytes) of PRBS data. BMC
required.
Eye Pattern
The Exerciser sends a continuous string of bits (PRBS-8). This
produces a signal that will allow measurement of the eye pattern and
of the spectrum mask.
Carrier
Mode 0
The Exerciser sends a continuous string of "0"s.
Mode 1
The Exerciser sends a continuous string of "1"s.
Mode 2
The Exerciser sends a continuous string of alternating "1"s and “0”s.
BMC required.
Mode 3
The Exerciser sends a continuous string of sixteen "1"s, followed by
sixteen “0”s, followed by sixteen “1”s, etc.
Start Test
Initiates the selected BIST Mode.
Hard Reset
The Exerciser sends a Hard Reset (used to exit the active BIST
Mode).
Recipient
Specifies the recipient device type (SOP, SOP’, SOP”).
Errors
Provide a running count of errors detected in Transmitter or Receiver
BIST modes. Initialized to zero at test start.
