3.1 Terminal diagrams
The suggested core colours are based on the use of a cable with four twisted pairs as core
wires and colour code according to DIN 47100, e.g. "LiYCY 4 x 2 x 0.5 mm

twisted pairs".
Appropriate cables can be obtained from Elster-Instromet. (see page 2, II-2, Options).
Of course, other cables can also be used provided they conform to the requirements
quoted in Appendix B (page 22). Similarly, a different designation of the core colours is
possible.
In each case paired cores must be connected to associated positive and negative
terminals, e.g. a core pair to "T+" and "T-".
3.1.1 EK260

With the EK260 volume corrector, set “TypS2” = “2” (display column "Ser.IO")
before you connect it to the FE230 in order to avoid damage to the devices.

On the EK260 the terminals “R+”, “R-“, “T+” and “T-“ are also labelled with “CS”, “RD”,
“RS” and “TD”. When connecting the FE230, these designations have no significance.
