About the CX700
Each power supply is an auto-ranging, power-factor-corrected
,
multi-output, off-line converter with its own line cord and power
switch
.
Each supply supports a fully configured SPE and shares load
currents with the other supply. A FRU with power-related faults will
not adversely affect the operation of any other FRU
.
You can add or
remove one power supply in a highly available
configuration while
the CX700 storage system is powered up.
Each power supply has status lights, that are described in Chapter 3
A latch on the power supply locks it into place to ensure proper
connection to the midplane.
Figure 1-11 shows the power supply status LEDs and the latch. (Note
that Figure 1-11 shows an ac power supply; LEDs on -48 V dc systems
are the same.)
