About the CX700
Overview
The CX700 is a highly available storage enclosure with redundant
power and cooling. It is four U high (a U is a NEMA unit, each unit
being 1.75 inches) and supports two storage processors (SPs). Each SP
has four host I/O ports and four back-end disk ports.
The CX700 can provide storage in storage area network (SAN)
configurations (using Fibre Channel switches), or direct attach
configurations (without switches). The CX700 works in conjunction
with one or more 15-disk disk-array enclosures (DAEs) to provide
terabytes of highly available disk storage. A DAE is a basic enclosure
without an SP. Each DAE connects to a CX700 or another DAE with
simple FC-AL serial cabling.
