Cabling a CX700

Setting Up and Starting a CX700 System
Be sure to maintain
all
A to A and B to B connections. Failure to do so will
prevent write caching from working.
5. Plug the free end of power supply A’s power cord into SPS A’s
power outlet.
6. Plug the free end of power supply B’s power cord into SPS B’s
power outlet.
7. Repeat Step 1 through Step 6 on the power/cooling modules in
the first DAE (EA 0). Refer to Figure 2-4 or Figure 2-5.
To support
write-caching, EA 0 on loop 0 must receive power from the SPS
.
8. Connect each SPS ac inlet to the nearest ac outlet in the vertical
power strip in the cabinet. As shown in Figure 2-4 and Figure 2-5,
each SPS connects to a different power strip. For high availability,
you must connect each power strip to a different circuit.
Figure 2-4 shows ac power cord connection for a CX700 that uses
a DAE2 as the first (EA 0, loop 0) DAE in the storage system.
Figure 2-4
Connecting the Power Cords to the SPSs (DAE2 as EA 0, Loop 0)
Figure 2-5 shows a CX700 in a 40U-C cabinet with multiple
DAE2Ps. Again, power modules in the first (EA 0, loop 0) DAE in
the storage system are connected to the SPSs.
