EMC Disk-Array Processor Enclosure (DPE) Deskside Model FC4400/4500 Hardware Reference
Specifications and Operational Requirements
Technical Specifications
Technical specifications include power requirements, size, drive,
interface, and standards information.
AC Power
Requirements
The ac line current, power consumption (VA), and power dissipation
for each deskside DPE or DAE enclosure are based on the maximum
capability of the power supplies and cooling system to provide
internal regulated power. Typical values for these requirements will
be less, depending on the number and manufacturer of disk modules.
These values represent either:
•
The values for the line cord of an enclosure with a single power
supply.
•
The total values shared by the line cords of two power supplies in
the same enclosure, with the division between the line cords and
supplies at the current sharing ratio.
A failure of one of the two power supplies in an enclosure results in
the remaining supply and cord supporting the full load. You must
have main branch ac distribution that can handle these values for the
DPE and DAE enclosures in the deskside cabinet.
Because the deskside DPE combines a DPE and a DAE enclosure, and
because these enclosures contain different modules, the ac power
requirements are listed for both enclosures. To determine an overall value for
the deskside DPE, you must add the ac power requirements of each enclosure
together. The values are for a single power supply and a non-redundant
power configuration.
