12 Chapter 2 Mechanical Installation
NX UPS Single Module And Parallel System 250kVA ~ 800kVA User Manual
Note
Take special care when moving the battery cabinet fitted with batteries, in which case, the moving distance shall be minimized.
The UPS can be moved by means of a fork lift or similar equipment.
2.4.3 Clearances
As the UPS has no ventilation grills at either side, no clearances are required for either side.
The component layout of the UPS supports front access and top access for servicing, diagnosing and repairing the
UPS. Maintain a clearance at least 1000mm around the front of the UPS to permit routine tightening of the power
terminations within the UPS and the removing of the power modules. Meanwhile, maintain at the back of the cabinet
a clearance at least 500mm to permit adequate circulation of air coming out of the UPS.
2.4.4 Cable Entry
The UPS adopts top cable entry and bottom cable entry.
2.4.5 Final Positioning And Fixing
After final positioning, fix the UPS directly on the installation surface through the anchor holes on the UPS base. If the
UPS is mounted on raised floor, a suitable pedestal should be designed, which should be able to bear the UPS
weight. When designing the pedestal, refer to the bottom views in Figure 2-2 and Figure 2-4.
Important
Fixing the UPS to the installation surface through the anchor holes on the UPS base is mandatory.
2.4.6 Mechanical Cabinet Connection (600kVA ~ 800kVA)
The 600kVA ~ 800kVA UPS system includes two main power cabinets and a bypass cabinet. The cabinets need to be
connected in the installation site.
As shown in Figure 2-1, the cabinets shall be fixed with accessory bolts at points A, B, C and D at the front of the
cabinets as well as the four corresponding positions at the rear side of the cabinets. The eight points use the same
bolts for connection, two bolts for each point. Therefore, 16 bolts M10 × 30, 16 nuts M10, 16 spring washers M10 and
32 plain washers M10 are needed for cabinet connection. The recommended bolt tightening torque is 35N.m.
Important
Bolting the UPS cabinets together using the bolts delivered with the UPS is mandatory.
Note
After making mechanical connection between the cabinets as instructed in this section, refer to
3.3 Electrical Cabinet
Connection (600kVA ~ 800kVA)
to make cable connection between the cabinets.
