3.2.5 Remote EPO Input Port
The UPS has an EPO function that operates by a button on the operator control and display panel of the UPS or by a
remote contact provided by the user. The EPO switch is under a hinged plastic shield.
J24 is the remote EPO input port. The port is shown in Figure 3-14 and described in Table 3-6.

EPO_NO
EPO activated when shorted to pin 3
EPO is triggered when pins 3 and 4 of J24 are shorted or pins 2 and 1 of J24 are opened.
If an external EPO facility is required, pins 1 and 2 or 3 and 4 of J24 are reserved for this function. The external EPO
facility is also connected to the normally open or normally closed remote EPO switch between these two terminals
using shielded cable. If this function is not used, pins 3 and 4 of J24 must be opened or pins 1 and 2 of J24 must be
shorted.
Note
1. The UPS EPO action shuts down the rectifier, inverter and static bypass, but it does not internally disconnect the input power
supply. To disconnect all power to the UPS, open the external power switch, bypass switch, output switch and BCB after EPO is
activated.
2. Pins 1 and 2 of J24 are supplied factory-shorted.
3.2.6 RS232 Port And Intellislot Port
The RS232 port provides serial data and is intended for use by authorized commissioning and service personnel in
UPS commissioning and service.
The Intellislot ports are used for installing optional cards on the site, including relay card, Modbus card and SIC card.
Table 3-7 provides the models and installation positions of the optional cards. Refer to
8.2.8 Relay Card
for the
installation and use of the relay card. For the installation and setting of the Modbus card, refer to
UPS
JBUS/MODBUS Adapter User Manual
. Refer to
Site Interface Web/SNMP Agent Card User Manual
for the
installation and setting of the SIC card.

The Intellislot 1 port shares communication resource with the RS232 port. To avoid conflict, when using the RS232 port in service
and commissioning, it is not recommended to use the Intellislot 1 port.
