Step Action

Open the front cover of the controller and distribution section of the Lorain
CIP shelf.

Carefully slide the Controller CIP partially out of the shelf and disconnect
the three output relay connectors, taking note of the exact location of
each connector and marking it accordingly. Refer to Figure 5.1.

Pull the Controller CIP completely out of the shelf.

Set all the DIP switches on the new Controller CIP to exactly the same
position as these on the removed Controller CIP. Refer to Figure 5.1.

Slide the new Controller CIP partially into the shelf.

Reconnect all the wires disconnected per step 3 (see Figure 5.1) on the
new Controller CIP and carefully slide it into position, making sure that it
is fully inserted.

Close the front cover of the controller and distribution section of the
Lorain CIP shelf.

Wait until the Controller CIP has finished booting, and then press the
“Refresh” button on the Controller CIP for 5 seconds. All units
communicating with the Controller CIP will flash their operational LED for
5 seconds. The Controller CIP will flash the Controller Status LED while
reconfiguring, and then remain steady when reconfiguration is completed.

Notify the alarm center of the completion of this procedure.

Replacing a System Manager CIP in a Lorain CIP or Lorain CIP Access
power system
Replace a System Manager CIP in a Lorain CIP or Lorain CIP Access power
system as described in the following procedure.
CAUTION!
Prevent damages to the controller
Always remove the controller from the Lorain CIP or Lorain
CIP Access power system by pulling on it towards the front,
never upwards, as this may cause damages to the controller
and/or the connectors.

Notify the alarm center of the possibility of incoming alarms during this
procedure.

Open the front cover of the controller and distribution section of the Lorain
CIP shelf.

Carefully slide the System Manager CIP partially out of the shelf and
disconnect all the connectors from it, taking note of the exact location of
each connector and marking it accordingly. Refer to Figure 5.3.

Pull the System Manager CIP completely out of the shelf.
