Cleaning and maintenance
In order to ensure many years of happiness with the outstanding performance of your radiant gas heater it is necessary to
ensure that the following maintenance tasks are performed on a regular basis:
Ÿ
Keep the outer surfaces clean.
F
For cleaning use a warm solution of soapy water. Never use flammable or corrosive cleaning agents.
F
When cleaning your radiant gas heater make certain that the areas around the heating burner and the pilot flame
assembly remain dry. If the gas regulator comes in contact with water, you may not use it. It then has to be replaced.
Ÿ
After a longer period not in use examine the radiant gas heater for the presence of spiders, spider webs and other insects.
Ÿ
The air flow must not be impaired. Keep the operator's control panel, burner and air circulation channels clean.
Indications for possible blockage are:
F
Gas odour with extremely yellow flame peaks.
F
The radiant gas heater does not produce the required temperature.
F
The radiant gas heater glows very unevenly.
F
The radiant gas heater makes popping noises.
Ÿ
Spiders and other insects can be present in the burner or in the apertures of the heater. This dangerous condition can lead
to damage and unsafe operation of the radiant gas heater. Clean out the burner apertures with compressed air.
Ÿ
Carbon deposits represent a fire hazard. Clean the reflector and the glass tube with soapy water if carbon deposits
accumulate. Observe particular caution for cleaning the glass tube.
When storing between periods in operation observe the following points:
Ÿ
Ÿ
Set the liquefied gas bottle to the "OFF" position.
Ÿ
Store the radiant gas heater in the upright position in an area which is protected against weather influences
(such as rain, sleet, hail and snow).
Ÿ
Make certain that the radiant gas heater is inaccessible to children.
Ÿ
You may want to cover the radiant gas heater in order to protect it and to prevent dirt and dust from accumulating
in the air channels. This requires that you wait until the radiant gas heater has cooled down completely.
When storing over a longer inactive period observe the following points:
Ÿ
Rotate the variable regulator button to the "OFF" position.
Ÿ
Remove the liquefied gas bottle from the radiant gas heater and bring it to a safe and well-ventilated outdoor location.
DO NOT store the gas bottle in a location with an ambient temperature above 50°C.
