Length of connecting cable
In order to ensure measuring accuracy, comply with the following instructions when installing the
remote version:
• Secure the cable run or route the cable in a conduit. Movement of the cable can falsify the
measuring signal, particularly if the fluid conductivity is low.
• Route the cable well clear of electrical machines and switching elements.
• If necessary, ensure potential equalization between sensor and transmitter.
• The permissible length of the connecting cable L
max
depends on the fluid conductivity
(
17). A minimum conductivity of 20
μ
S/cm is required for measuring demineralized
water. Most liquids can be measured as of a minimum conductivity of 5
μ
S/cm.
• The maximum length of the connecting cable is 10 m (32.8 ft) when Empty Pipe Detection
(EPD
59) is switched on.
