Function check
Make sure that all final checks have been completed before you start up your measuring point:

Note!
• The technical function data of the FOUNDATION Fieldbus interface to IEC 61158-2 (MBP) must
be maintained.
• The bus voltage of 9...32 V and the current consumption of 12 mA at the measuring device (FF
interface) can be checked using a normal multimeter.
• Using the LED on the I/O board (see Page 37) it is possible to carry out a simple function check
on the fieldbus communication in the non-hazardous area.
Function check using the local display (optional)
Once the function checks have been successfully completed, it is time to switch on the power sup-
ply. The device is now operational.
The measuring device performs a number of power on self-tests. As this procedure progresses the
following sequence of messages appears on the local display:
Normal measuring mode commences as soon as start-up completes. Various measured value and/or
status variables appear on the display (HOME position).

If start-up fails, an error message indicating the cause is displayed.
