you change the rate selection, it affects ALL DDS outputs in Meridian II. (This module may not be
field-installable, depending on whether your Meridian already has a DDS installed.)
Digital Output Module - 1 PPS or 10 MPPS
This module provides four copies of either a 1 PPS or a 10 MPPS on-time rate output. This pulse rate
is specified by the customer when the order is placed, preset at the factory, and cannot be changed.
Analog Time Code Output Module
The Analog Time Code Output Module is a “plug-and-play” option that adds four additional time
code outputs to your Meridian II. These buffered outputs can provide synchronization of equipment
such as synchronized generators, digital fault recorders, SCADA systems, and time displays, and are
suitable for recording onto magnetic tape or for transmission over another medium such as coaxial
cable. Available time code formats are: IRIG-B120 (IEEE-1344), IRIG-B122, IRIG-B123, NASA-
36, or 2137.
All four output connectors use the same code format. The format is identical to that of the Receiver/
CPU Module AM Code output which is set via console command
systemioconfig
(

Low Phase Noise (LPN) Module
Meridian II can be configured with several high-performance, disciplined, 10-MHz oscillators. The
low-phase-noise outputs work in conjunction with these oscillators to provide individually buffered,
spectrally pure, sine wave outputs. The levels of the contributors to spectral impurity have been
carefully controlled by the selection of the optional oscillators that are offered, and by the design of
the option module and its integration into the Meridian II chassis. In addition, very good channel-to-
channel isolation has been achieved.
The LPN Module adds four (1U / 2U) or six (2U) low-phase-noise frequency outputs to your Me-
ridian II. The LPN Module with resident oscillator resides in Slot 1 and is not field-upgradeable.
However, additional LPN Modules (without an oscillator) can be installed in the field as plug-and-
play options.
