I/O Menu
The I/O Menu provides access to the information and user settings related to the rear-panel I/O con-
nectors. In addition to the CPU Module, each Meridian II has five plug-in option slots. Each slot
has an associated display for status and setup. Slots are numbered left to right with Slot 1 being the
first plug-in location next to the CPU Module. If an option slot is empty, the display will indicate
Empty(1-5). When an option card is installed, the display will show OptCard(1-5). Select CPU-I/O to
view status and setup information for the CPU Module outputs. Select an option slot (i.e. OptCard4)
to view status and setup information for that particular option card.
If your Meridian II is a 2U chassis with dual power supplies, then the display will show two addi-
tional option cards (6 and 7). Refer to
Chapter 10 - Rear-Panel I/O
for more information regarding
the various option modules.
System I/O Menu (Sys_I/O)
The Sys_I/O Menu is used for viewing and configuring system-wide output signals. System signals
are the 1PPS, time code, optional DDS and optional SerialTime. See
Chapter 10 - Rear-Panel I/O
for more information. The Inhibit function allows you to prevent the timing signals (such as 1 PPS
and time code) from being output until the Meridian II has achieved a first-time lock status.
CPU Module I/O Menu (CPU_I/O)
The CPU_I/O Menu is used for viewing the CPU Module output signals. I/O-A and I/O-B are always
used. I/O-C is available for an optional output in a 1U chassis. I/O-C through I/O-F are available in
a 2U chassis. If an optional Programmable Pulse Output (PPO) is present, then you may change the
PPO setting by pressing EDIT. See
Chapter 10 - Rear-Panel I/O, Standard I/O
and
CPU Module
Options
for more information on the CPU Module options.
Network Menu
The Network Menu is selected from the Main Menu and provides access to Network4, Network6,
MAC Address and REBOOT displays which are described below.
Network: Network4
This display provides the ability to view and modify the IPv4 network settings. The parameters
include Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), IP address, gateway, netmask and domain
name server (DNS) settings. Enable DHCP to allow automatic system configuration of the network
interface. When DHCP is disabled the user must provide address information.
Network: Network6
This display provides the ability to view and modify the IPv6 network settings. Refer to
Chapter 8
- IPv6 Information
.
Network: MAC Address (MAC_Addr)
This display provides the media access control (MAC) address for both network ports (
eth0
and
eth1
).
