8.5 Maintenance Procedures
The following sections provide detail on how to perform the recommended maintenance. If you
have questions or need assistance, contact EnergyLogic Technical Service.
8.5.1 Heat Exchanger Cleaning / Door and Access Insulation Checks
How often?
Cleaning / Inspection: Once every 500 hours of operation
(or if there are signs of incomplete
combustion or smoke)
. Or, to remove accumulated oil as needed. Replace Insulation: If
damaged, or at least once every 5 years.
Tools Required:
5/16 in. & 1/2 in. sockets, 3/4 in. open-ended wrench, EnergyLogic Furnace Cleaning Tool (PN
14033227), chimney brush, pipe brushes, work gloves, dust mask and safety glasses, large
heavy-duty plastic trash bag and box. For your convenience, EnergyLogic offers convenient
boiler and flue brush accessories.
Personally verify that the main power is turned off and locked out at the circuit
breaker.
Pull ash from
chamber.
Push ash using
pipe brush to
breech end.
With breech
panels removed,
collect ash in
box.
Inspect door and
strip insulation
panels for
damage.
Clean ash from
flue using flue
brush.
