CONNECTING
THE
DIGITAL
VOICE
RECORDER
&
AUXILIARY
AUDIO
MONITORING
DEVICES
TO
THE
BASE
UNIT:
1.
Insert
the
Base
Unit's
1/8"
(3.5mm)
"
TO
VOICE
RECORDER
"MIC
IN
"
cable
lead
plug
into
the
Digital
Voice
Recorder's
"
MIC
IN
"
jack.
NOTE:
The
Digital
Voice
Recorder
is
powered
and
operated
separately
from
the
Base
Unit.
Check
that
batteries
have
been
installed
prior
to
operations.
2.
Connect
up
to
(3)
external
audio
monitoring,
distribution
or
recording
devices
such
as
headphones,
wireless
transmitters,
speakers
or
digital
voice
recorders
into
the
Base
Unit's
1/8"
(3.5mm)
"
COMM
AUDIO
OUTPUT
"
jack(s)
(located
on
outer/right).
NOTE:
During
operations,
the
listening/speaker
volume
level
of
an
external
audio
monitoring
device
connected
to the
Base
Unit
may
may be
increased
or
decreased
by
adjusting
the
device’s
volume
control
dial
or
volume
+/
‐
buttons.
OPERATIONS:
Placing
an
Outgoing
Call:
1.
Power
on
the
Base
Unit
by
setting
the
“
POWER
ON/OFF
” switch
to
the
"
ON
"
position.
NOTE:
An
LED
will
turn
on
to
signal
that
the
Base
Unit
is
active/receiving
power.
If
the
outgoing
call
is
to
be
recorded,
check
that
the
Digital
Voice
Recorder
connected
to
the Base
Unit
has
been
powered
on
and
recording
function
has
been
activated.
2.
To
place
an
outgoing
call,
enter
the
telephone
number
of
the
party
that
is
to
be
reached
on
the
dial
pad
of
the
cell
phone
handset
connected
to
the
Base
Unit
and
press
the
cell
phone’s
“
SEND
” key.
NOTE:
To
help
prevent/limit
cellular
radio
frequency
(RF)
interference
set
the
connected
cell
phone
as
far
away
from
the
Base
Unit
and
other
electronic
devices
as
possible.
3.
After
the
call
is
connected,
use
the
headset
connected
to
the
Base
Unit
to
talk
and
listen
to
the
party.
NOTE:
During
operations,
the
listening
volume
level
of
the
headset
connected
to
the
“Primary
Party
Headset” port
may
be
increased
or
decreased
by
adjusting
the
device’s
volume
control
dial.
Should
an
operator
experience
difficulty
hearing
the
party
after the
headset
volume
control
dial
has
been
set
to
its
highest
level,
the
operator
should
increase
the
speaker/volume
level
of
the
connected
cell
phone
handset.
4.
To
disconnect
the
call
in
progress,
press
the
cell
phone’s
“
END
” key
or
power
off
the
Base
Unit
by
setting
the
“
POWER
ON/OFF
” switch
to
the
"
OFF
"
position.
NOTE:
The
LED
will
turn
off
to
signal
that
the
Base
Unit
is
inactive/not
receiving
power.
Always
power
off
the
Base
Unit
after
operations.
