Steep Ramp Test
[Power at finish] indicates the power to which the Bike Reha was set at the end of the steep ramp
test. This is the so-called Maximum Short Exercise Capacity (MSEC).
[Wmax (endurance)] is the capacity that can be maintained for a longer period (e.g. 3 minutes, as
during a maximum test). The MSEC is used to estimate this maximum exertion capacity.
The Steep Ramp test provides an estimate of the absolute maximum oxygen uptake
[VO2 max abs.] and calculates a value related to bodyweight [VO2max rel.].
The [fitness index] is presented as a percentage to compare with average values.
A fitness index of 120%, for instance, means that the patient's VO2max value lies 20% above the
average for people of the same sex, age and weight.
