PREFACE
We very much appreciate your purchase of the
EN-Tree Bench
1)
. The EN-Tree Bench offers the
possi-bility to practice in a very flexible way medical
training therapy.
The package contain the EN-Tree Train and the
operation manual, in which you are reading now.
The rounded edges and the many well accessible
knobs, allow for safe operation.
In general, medical training therapy is practiced with
a set of 3 products (see page 11). Besides the EN-
Tree Bench (figure 1), these are the EN-Tree Pulley
(fig. 2) and the EN-Tree Train
1)
(fig. 3) or EN-TreeM.
Sometimes, also loose weights can be used. This
equipment is intended for training and therapy under
supervision of a (para)medic.
When developing and producing the EN-Tree Bench,
much consideration was given to reliability, safety,
user comfort and durability. In order to be able to
use your EN-Tree Bench safely, it is important that
you read the instructions before use.
DIRECTIONS WITH REGARD TO
SAFETY
• The EN-Tree Bench should be operated or used
by one person at ones.
• Use both hands to change the EN-Tree Bench
settings: one hand for unlocking and the other for
adjusting the section, and, after having adjusted
a section, make sure that it klicks in its new posi-
tion.
• When putting the back section in an horizontal po-
sition, you must avoid your fingers being squeezed
between the back section and the frame.
• Keep your fingers away from the guiding bars when
adjusting the angle of the back section.
• Keep feet clear from under the EN-Tree Bench
while adjusting the angle of the back section (page
11, fig. 4).
• Do not place fingers under the seat while it is at
an angle.
• Do not adjust the back or the seat section when it
supports the full weight of the patient.
• The maximum load of the seat section and the
back section is at its lowest position 135 kg. Do
not over load.
• Make sure there is at least 1 metre of free space
around the EN-Tree Bench.
• Although the EN-Tree Bench is equipped with a
stable, wide base, we advise you to avoid exces-
sive sideways load when training, with regard to
a possible danger of tilting.
• The covering is inflammable; therefore, keep open
fire away from the bench.
• At all times keep away unsupervised children from
the equipment.
• In case of incorrect training, injury may occur.
Supervision by a knowledgeable (para)medic is
therefore obligatory.
HANDLING AND USE
• By pulling out the knob A (fig.1)on the side of the
Bench, by which the handle A-1 on the front will
be set free, you can adjust the seat to a horizontal
or sloping position .
• Adjusting the angle of the back is done by pulling
the back section up. The angle indication B (fig. 1)
facilitates an objective training. The back can be
adjusted downwards by turning the bolt C (fig. 1),
which is positioned on both sides of the bench.
• The height of the back section can be adjusted by
holding the back section with one hand and pulling
the bolt D (fig. 1) with the other. Then bring the
section in the desired position and let go of the
bolt. Make sure that the section clicks in its new
position.
• The seat can also be placed behind the back to
further extend the training possibilities. By turning
the seat upwards, it becomes loose from the
frame. The seat can now be mounted behind the
back section by clicking the white clamps onto the
axes (see fig. 4). If you wish to use two seats (e.g.
for patient and therapist), you can order an extra
seat.
• The EN-Tree Bench can be moved easily by lifting
it at the seat section and rolling it on the wheels E
(fig. 1).
• For the sequence of training therapy we direct
you to the therapy guides and reference books
published on this matter. At Enraf-Nonius or its
representative a publication can be ordered titled
"Medical Training Therapy with the EN-Tree",
with reference of part number 1400.799 (English
version).
