Entek IRD 6687 Protection Monitor
6687 Monitor
DELAYS submenu
The DELAYS submenu has the following options. These options apply to both channels of
the monitor.
Note: The GLOBAL alarm delays do not affect the System OK relay.
Setting the Display Scale and Zero Position
This section guides you through setting the display scale and zero position for the monitor.
The 6687 allows you to choose the display full scale high, full scale low, and zero position
for your particular application. This example assumes that the full scale low position (cold
position) for the case is at 0 mils. The full scale high position (maximum expansion) is at
1000 mils.
Note: Check with the machinery manufacturer about the case operating position and acceptable
tolerances before making these adjustments.
1.
Start with the machine case in the cold position. Make sure the tip of the plunger of the
LVDT is in contact with the case.
2.
Change the full scale settings (FS LO and FS HI) on the RANGES menu to match the
monitoring requirements. See “RANGES submenu” on page 21. For this illustration,
you would set FS LO 1 to 0 mils, and set FS HI 1 to +1000.0 mils.
3.
Exit from the Factory menu. The display may show a solid bar for the channel, instead
of showing the case at the zero (cold) position.
4.
Choose ZRO TX1 from the User menu. You can ignore the line that changes length on
this screen; it merely indicates that you are in a ZRO TX screen.

GLOBAL
Choose the alarm delay that applies to all alarms (0.0–30.0 sec). The
alarm must persist for this length of time before the monitor
acknowledges the alarm and changes any relays.
STARTUP
Choose the length of time during which the monitor inhibits the Danger
alarm relays (0.0–30.0 sec). The start-up period begins when terminal 11
(START UP INHIBIT/MULTI) is momentarily connected to terminal 46
(DIGITAL COMM).
EXIT
Return to the RELAYS submenu. The monitor remembers the current
values for menu options, but does not write them to memory until you exit
the Factory menu.
