If your printer icon doesn’t appear in the Chooser (Macintosh) . . .

Your Macintosh has extension conflicts. Disable Quick Draw GX in the
Extensions Manager. Make sure AppleTalk and SC 900 (AT) are enabled, and
then restart your Macintosh. Also, make sure your AppleTalk connection is set to
Ethernet.
■
You may have too many items in the Chooser. Delete any unused items and check
the Chooser again.
If you can’t see the ink level gauge when you print in Windows . . .
Make sure you installed both parts of Status Monitor 2. If you didn’t, uninstall your
printer driver and Status Monitor 2, as described on page 97. Then, see page 23 to
install Status Monitor 2. After that, re-install your printer driver, following the
instructions on page 49. Once you’ve installed Status Monitor 2, make sure
background monitoring is turned on. See your electronic EPSON Stylus COLOR
900N Manual for details on Status Monitor 2. (Status Monitor 2 is not available for
Windows 3.1.)
Problems Getting Good Print Quality
If you see horizontal banding . . .

Make sure the print head nozzles are not clogged. To clean the print head, see
page 77.
