1
Initial setting
Do the following checks show a problem?
• Sensor Low Paper (PL17.4.7) installation
• Lever Low Paper (PL17.4.9) installation
Reinstall applicable parts.
Go to step 2.
2
Does the error occur even when paper is added?
• With the tool: Go to step 3.
• Without the tool: Go to step 4.
End of procedure
3
Sensor Low Paper (PL17.4.7) check
Use the Sensor Low Paper diagnosis tool to carry out a Digital Input Test.
Is the Sensor Low Paper functioning normally?
Replace the PWBA MCU &
HVPS. (Refer to Ch4-4.2.18.1)
Go to step 4.
4
Lever Low Paper (PL17.4.9)
Does the Lever Low Paper move smoothly?
Go to step 5.
Replace the Lever Low Paper
(PL17.4.9).
5
Power supply to Sensor Low Paper (PL17.4.7)
1. Remove the Cover R. (Refer to Ch4-4.2.4.9)
2. Disconnect the P/J82 connector from the PWBA Feeder (PL17.4.1).
3. Measure the voltage between P82-8 <=> P82-9.
Is there 3.3V DC between P82-8 <=> P82-9?
Go to step 6.
Go to step 10.
6
Harness Assy Feeder 2T (PL17.4.3) continuity
1. Disconnect the P/J82 connector from the PWBA Feeder (PL17.4.1).
2. Disconnect the P/J823 connector from the Sensor Low Paper Tray 2 (PL17.4.7).
3. Check the continuity between the following lines.
J82-8 <=> J823-3
J82-9 <=> J823-2
J82-10 <=> J823-1
Is there continuity in all lines between J82 <=> J823?
Go to step 7.
Replace the Harness Assy
Feeder 2T (PL17.4.3).
7
Sensor Low Paper (PL17.4.7) sensor signal check
1. Disconnect the P/J140 connector from the PWBA MCU & HVPS (PL15.1.2).
2. Close the I/L Switch of the PWB Drive (PL15.1.15).
3. While operating the Lever Low Paper (PL17.4.9) manually, measure the following voltage.
P/J82-10 <=> P/J82-9
Is the voltage between P/J82-10 <=> P/J82-9 +3.3V DC at the low paper condition, and
0V DC when the lever is released?
Go to step 8.
Replace the Sensor Low
Paper (PL17.4.7).
