1.4.2 Errors
Command error
Cause:
Undefined command or parameter is detected.
Description:
The scanner ignores the wrong command or parameter (Therefore, the current settings or the
default value remain effective.).
Scanner sends NACK, and waits next command or parameter.
Indicator:
READY LED comes on.
ERROR LED comes on.
Remedy:
The error condition is cleared when the scanner received a correct command.
Interface error
Cause:
Wrong procedure is detected in the interface communication.
In the case of SCSI, a transmission is frozen more than 30 seconds except BUS FREE phase.
Description:
The lamp goes off and the scanner stops operation.
Indicator:
READY LED goes off.
ERROR LED blinks.
Remedy:
Turn the scanner off and then back on.
Push the reset switch.
/INIT signal in the parallel interface turns active.
RESET signal in SCSI turns active.
Acceptable command:
Nothing
Fatal error
Cause:
The lamp is broken.
System breakdown.
Description:
The lamp goes off and the scanner stops operation.
Indicator:
READY LED blinks.
ERROR LED blinks.
Remedy:
Turn the scanner off and then back on.
Push the reset switch.
Send ESC @ codes to the scanner.
/INIT signal in the parallel interface turns active.
RESET signal in SCSI turns active.
Complete BUS DEVICE RESET message in SCSI.
Acceptable command:
[ESC F, ESC@]
Operation error
Cause:
Receive [ESC G], when a film carrier or APS holder is not loaded.The lamp is broken.
Description:
The bit 7 of the status byte is set.
A status bit is set in the status data. (Ref. [ESC F] )
Indicator:
READY LED goes off.
ERROR LED goes off.
Remedy:
Remove the error condition.
