8. Troubleshooting
This section provides a list of error messages that appear if the Evaluation Kit GUI is not operated correctly.
8.1 Common
Problems
The message “the system cannot open file specified” appears when the application is started.
Ensure that another instance of the user interface is not already running. If it is, close both down and
restart the application. If this is not the case, ensure that one of the ports on the PC is mapped to the
selected communications port by checking the settings in Windows® device manager. See the
Windows® Documentation for further details.
Register button is pressed but no ISC_TEST_RESP message is reported in the system messages
window.
Ensure the hardware has been set up and is in the state described in Evaluation Kit Getting Started
Guide. Ensure that the PC on which the software is running has the specifications outlined in section
2.1 above.
Instead of success, an error code is reported when the Response message is displayed.
Ensure that no messages have been sent out of sequence as outlined in the Message Protocol
Specification. If this is not the case then please refer to the error codes in the same document to see
the meaning of the error code returned.
After reflashing multiple times, System Messages Window doesn’t update with messages
scrolling while in audio playback or TTS demonstration.
Close down and restart the GUI in Demonstration Mode for the particular device being targeted.
