(Non-smear mode)
Enables non-smear printing mode, which reduces
the chance of smeared pages by decreasing the
per-line printing speed. This mode is helpful when
printing on coated or glossy paper because it allows
more time for the ink to dry.
Hold down
Load/Eject
as you turn on the printer;
then press
Cleaning
while the
Ink Out
and
Paper
Out
lights are flashing. Send a print job.
To exit non-smear mode, wait until all pages print
and turn off the printer.
Load/Eject
and

(Default setting mode)
Enters the printer’s Default setting mode and prints
an instruction page; see page 2-8 for more
information. (Paper must be loaded in the printer.)
Hold down both the
Load/Eject
and
Cleaning
buttons while you turn on the printer and hold them
down until the printer feeds a page.
To use Default setting mode without printing an
instruction page, hold down
Load/Eject
and
Cleaning
, and turn on the printer; then press
Load/Eject
again. To exit the Default setting mode,
wait until all pages print and turn off the printer.
Cleaning

(Hex dump mode)
Prints a page containing a hexadecimal
representation (hex dump) of the data received by
the printer for troubleshooting purposes; see
Chapter 6 for more information. (Paper must be
loaded in the printer.)
