15. PROLONGED SWITCH OFF
When the unit is not used for a long time, please take note of the following procedures:
•
Unplug the unit.
•
Clean and dry the tank well.
•
Leave the glass door open to avoid possible formation of bad odours
•
Cover the unit with a curtain, place it in a dry room and sheltered from the atmospheric
agents.
16. OUTER CLEANING
WARNING! TURN OFF POWER SUPPLY TO THE CABINET BY DISCONNECTING
THE POWER PLUG BEFORE CLEANING.
For a good preservation of the cabinet’s body a periodical cleaning is necessary.
1. EXTERNAL BODY:
When necessary, the external body should be cleaned with a cloth
and a neutral soap and water solution.
2. STAINLESS STEEL SURFACES:
Wash with warm water and mild detergent, rinse well and
dry with soft cloth. Avoid scouring pads etc. which will spoil the finish of the stainless steel.
3. SURFACES IN PLASTIC MATERIAL:
Wash with warm water and mild detergent, rinse
well and dry with soft cloth; under no circumstances should alcohol, methylated spirits
or solvents be used.
4. GLASS SURFACES:
Only use products specifically designed for glass cleaning; It is not
advisable to use ordinary water which can leave a film of calcium on the surface of the glass.
17. DEFROSTING AND TANK CLEANING
WARNING! TURN OFF POWER SUPPLY TO THE CABINET BY DISCONNECTING
THE POWER PLUG BEFORE CLEANING.
If , however, the layer of frost on tank walls exceeds 4/5 mm in thickness, you should completely
defreeze the appliance as follows:
1.
Place the goods in special refrigerated containers, kept at the same temperature.
2.
Before cleaning the tank the inside temperature must be equal to the ambient temperature.
3.
Leave the doors open and begin the operation of tank washing when the tank temperature
is the same as the ambient temperature.
4. Proceed with washing and drying the internal chamber with a cloth using neutral PH
detergent and fresh water.
5. Clean the surfaces with a cloth, using neutral PH detergent, rinse and dry.
6. Avoid water entering into the appliance lighting units.
7.
Then plug the unit and wait till the appliance reaches the right temperature before filling
it again.
Do not use any aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents.
Never use a water hose or a high-pressure jet to clean the cabinet.
Do not use jet of water to clean the cabinet: electrical wiring could be
damaged.
Never use mechanical devices or any other means to accelerate the
defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
