11 Configuring QXFXS24 with QX IP PBXs
The Epygi QXFXS24 gateway used as a stand-alone device allows connecting analog phones to a VoIP net-
work. The QXFXS24 gateway can be installed also with any SIP-compliant IP PBX on the market to be used as
an FXS expansion device.
The QXFXS24 can be configured with Epygi QX IP PBXs (herein QX) as a FXS expansion device. This is the pri-
mary configuration for QXFXS24 allowing to use the cheaper analog phones for the most of QX IP PBX teleph-
ony features and services that are designed and applicable for IP phones. This document describes how to in-
crease the FXS capability for QX IP PBXs by configuring with QXFXS24 gateway as FXS expansion device.
There are two modes of QXFX24 configuration with QX IP PBX:
PnP – is used to configure the QXFXS24 automatically with any available in network QX IP PBX to use it
as FXS expansion device. Some extra adjustment in configuration can be done later on manually, if
needed.
Manual – is used to configure the QXFXS24 manually with the specified QX IP PBX to use it as FXS ex-
pansion device.
The Gateway Operation Mode page is used to select one of options for QXFXS24 operational mode. The follow-
ing modes are available:

Stand-alone – select this option to configure the QXFXS24 and use it as stand-alone VoIP getaway. You
have to configure the device manually using the management GUI.
PNP – select this option to configure the QXFXS24 automatically with any available in network QX IP
PBX and use it as FXS expansion device. Some extra adjustment in configuration can be done manually,
if needed.
Manual – select this option to configure the QXFXS24 manually with the specified QX IP PBX and use it
as FXS expansion device.
