4.1 MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION
4.1.1 DAILY
•
Inspect the metering unit pintle cogs and brushes, and clean if necessary. Take note of product
build-up underneath the pintle cogs.
•
Inspect divider heads and clean where necessary.
5 – 13 outlet divider heads
are equipped
with removable rubber caps for inspection. Note: Fertilizer dust can accumulate over time
causing blockages in the 32 mm pipes.
•
Inspect the oil cooler for external dust build-up which can impede air flow through the system.
•
Inspect the chains and sprockets for wear and apply lubricants where necessary.
4.1.2 WEEKLY
•
Grease all bearings on the drive wheel axles as needed.
•
Inspect the drive wheel tyre pressure and set it to 2 Bar.
4.1.3 OTHER
•
The filter element in the oil reservoir of the external PTO-pump system must be replaced
annually where applicable.
•
The oil in the PTO-pump gearbox must be replaced annually where applicable.
•
Maintenance of the bearings on all shaft drive systems must be greased twice weekly, be careful
not to over grease.
•
Cleaning: Wash the bins and metering units with soapy water after the season and treat
scratches with Equalizer primer and Equalizer 2 K top coat.
NB:
The metering units may not at any point be sprayed with water.
•
Treat all drive shafts, metering unit bearings, other bearings and chains with an anti-corrosive
spray like Tektor or Q20.
