Once the cover is off, the plate at the bottom of the bed will slide out.
Underneath you will see the scissor lift mechanism that moves the plate up and
down.

There are two connectors that join the adjustment rods.
Using a screw driver, remove the screws from the connector closest to you.
(There are six screws shown below.)
You can now turn the front adjustment rod without the back adjustment rod
turning.
