g. Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, and
watches when working with a lead-acid battery. A lead-acid battery
can produce a short-circuit current high enough to weld a ring or the
like to metal, causing a severe burn.
h. Connect any cable connected to the generator to a LEAD-ACID battery
only. The generator’s 12 V DC outlet is not intended to supply power to
a low voltage electrical system. Do not use the generator for charging
dry-cell batteries that are commonly used with household appliances.
These batteries may burst and cause injury to persons and damage to
property.

Preparing to charge a battery
a. Remove your vehicle’s battery from the vehicle.
b. Be sure the area around the battery is well ventilated.
c. Clean the battery terminals. Be careful to keep corrosion from coming
into contact with your eyes.
d. Study the battery manufacturer’s specific precautions and follow these.
e. Determine voltage of battery by referring to your car's owner’s manual
and make sure that it matches the rating of the generator.
Charging location
a. Locate the generator as far away from your battery as cable permits.
b. Do not operate in any closed-in area or restrict ventilation in any way.

Checking the generator and pack contents
• Take the generator out of the packaging.
• Check that the delivery is complete (see section: “List of contents and features”)
• Check whether the generator or any of its individual parts are damaged.
• If this is the case, do not use the generator. Contact the manufacturer at the
service address specified on the warranty card.
