2.2
Local test mode (initiated with 'C','*','4')
This test is initiated by pressing the keys 'C', '*' and '4' at the same time for one second. The
telephone abandons local test mode automatically after 30 seconds, or directly when the ’#’ key
is pressed.
The following objects are tested automatically: RAM, D-channel, registers in the line
communication circuit (DASL), registers in the speech transmission circuit (COMBO) and the
display. In addition, the user may test the following objects keys, hook, LEDs, tone ringer, display
and speech transmission.
2.2.1
Local selftest
This selftest is carried out automatically when local test mode is activated. All LEDs are lit.
If no faults are found, the display shows "SELFTEST OK" and the product number of the ROM
contents of the telephone's microprocessor, for instance, "CAA1122856 R1A". If a fault is found,
the LEDs in Table 1 below will start flashing, and fault messages will be shown on the display.
After 5 seconds, the display is filled with characters in descending ASCII order.
